09:00 AM or 02:00 PM: Our tour guide will welcome you at Hanoi Opera House, 1 Trang Tien Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi, and give you a brief introduction to the tour before starting the walking tour to discover Hanoi’s Old Quarter and French Quarter.

In the past, traditional craft villages gradually evolved into streets, and many streets no longer specialize in the trades reflected in their names. However, it is still worth wandering through these historic streets, where you can enjoy many fascinating experiences.

Despite the damage caused by the Vietnam War, Hanoi’s Old Quarter has retained many of its original features, making it particularly appealing to visitors interested in architecture. Unlike the tall buildings commonly found in modern cities or the stilt houses traditionally seen in Vietnam’s mountainous regions, the Old Quarter is famous for its distinctive “tube houses”—narrow buildings with relatively small frontages but considerable depth.

After exploring the Old Quarter and visiting some of its interesting sites, you will be guided to the Hoan Kiem Lake area, where you can visit Ngoc Son Temple before continuing to the French Quarter.

Although the French colonial period ended long ago, many examples of French architecture and Art Deco design remain in this area. These architectural influences give Hanoi a distinctive charm, combining elegance, sophistication, and a rich historical character.
